At TESU, IT Fundamentals is Computer Concepts and Applications - CIS-107 and Survey of World History is HIS-127.

Neither course is specifically listed on the SL credit listing pages for Charter Oak or Excelsior.

Does the IT Fundamentals overlap with the DSST Intro to Computing at TESU?

No, the DSST is COS-101. There shouldn't be an overlap.

Although the last I saw, it was CMP-202 (I think someone on here transferred it and was told it was that number - but obviously that has changed). If it now has the same course number as the TECEP, then I would recommend that - it's VERY easy to pass without all the work of a SL course (although with the price being free, I guess that is a benefit if you're already a SL member).

The TESU DSST list says
Introduction to Computing/ COS-101 Introduction to Computers *conditional review pending*

It does appear that Survey of World History would be a better use of a free course in most cases.

Nope, it's course equivalency at TESU is HIS-127 as KayV posted above. Here is a list of all equivalencies

For anyone considering these two courses, keep in mind they both use Acrobatiq courseware, which hasn't received such good reviews here. Both have a lot more quizzes than the usual StraighterLine course too (I think 22 for the IT one and 17 for the history one).

I just took Intro to IT. I was excited to hear about world history being offered. Then...
a) I saw it was an acrobatIQ course, like IT, so nah and
b) It's brand new. That means very little support if you like to research your class using google.

So, even though I can probably use it, and save $74 to boot, I'm going to pass.
