Either Intro to or Foundations of Statistics from Sophia works: https://partners.wgu.edu/Pages/Single.as...063&pid=54
I didn't find Foundations to be easier than Intro. I think it leaves out things that will help with understanding what they do leave in.

Saylor will be your cheapest option at $5 (course is free, proctored final exam is $5) - it expires on 4/30/22, although I've heard that they're renewing everything. If the course sucks, you can learn it for free on Khan Academy and then just take the exam.
ALEKS will be your next cheapest option at $20/mo, which is doable. There's also a DSST.

If one is looking for the absolute cheapest course, Saylor does win. But if one wants to be able to pass with relative ease, Sophia wins.

If your friends needs more classes, Sophia.org would be a good choice so they can take up X more courses in that month membership.

Unless the person is good at math, maybe they took it in high school and could pass the Saylor exam easily. An exam is always going to win as the quickest option IF you can pass without studying.
