Thanks for sharing the link to the blog post. If this is true, that is wonderful he was able to score an entry level cyber job. San Antonio has a nice cyber market. But, it does not have the opportunities a big city has like Austin. Nothing this young man has done is unique. It is very common. CUNY has a program where public HS students can earn a CUNY degree by the time they graduate. University of Texas, Austin has a high school on campus.
I can see how you can think that WGU IT programs are strong. I will definitely say WGU IT programs may be the most valuable within WGU. They allow their graduates to earn certifications needed to earn an entry level IT positions. However, WGU has a long way to go to compete on the level of other online degree programs, such as, University of Arizona, NYU SPS, CUNY SPS, FIU, etc.. They have develop partnerships with various organizations to pipeline their students into opportunities. Also, as I stated in another post, WGU needs to hire academic professionals for their mentorship and proctoring services. Until they implement some changes, WGU will be struggling among the rest.

Why would someone need a doctoral degree to perform proctoring services?

academic professionals does not mean people with doctoral degrees. Let me clarify, people who have experience within academia as higher education professionals. Also, these proctoring services don't even adhere to web accessibility requirements. There are many obvious flaws in this "competency" based education model.

As far as I'm aware, most schools don't have career counseling services for their students. If you're lucky, you might have a career fair or something of the sort organized on campus.
BTW, still waiting on proof that WGU is HS-level!

Have you ever been on an actual campus? What school did you go to that does not have a career center? lol! You are very ill-informed and it shows. Every state college or university has a career services office. This particular office has different names, Career Development Office, Career Strategy Office, etc... but the mission is the same.
Since you have so much time on your hands, go compare the CS WGU curriculum to any state school. If you are able to properly research, go find WGU coursework and compare it to any state school. Go do your own work. Maybe you will learn how to do proper research and think critically.
I came across this reddit post and thought I would share. Have a great day!
Nope, like I said, the onus is on YOU to prove that you're not talking out of your rear end regarding WGU's curriculum. "Do your own research" is the coward's way of saying "because I said so!" when they have absolutely nothing to back up their own claims.
I think we've been patient enough. One more chance to back up your claims.

Oh, goodness. San Antonio is far more populous than Austin. Even the San Antonio metro is more populous than the Austin metro. These posts are bizarre. You're not even taking time to look up basic information.

I want to transfer in a lot of credits. I have two of my RA (regionally accredited) college transcripts in PDF ready to send in, and just need to scan a 3rd to complete my first transfer credit evaluation request.
Hopefully the RA credit transfer is completed to my liking this month (August 2020). In the meantime I will begin taking TWO UotP courses (no cost up front), and work on some Saylor courses (no up-front costs either). If I get enough RA credits accepted I will send in an ACE trancript towards the end of the year to see how many ACE-recommended credits get approved.
My HOPE is that 72 credits transfer, leaving 16 UotP courses overall. I realize there is a lot left to do, and I still don't KNOW how much time and effort the UotP courses require. If it doesn't work out, at least posting the experience here will help others.
My projected cost to complete this is $2,750. I will post a summary of transfer eval when it's complete, then a projected path to degree completion.
It breaks my heart when people go for these for-profit private institutions instead of considering online state schools. There are so many other options for you. University of the People, WGU, Capella and many more are low quality institutions. As someone who was looking for an affordable online degree program with required accreditation and reputation, I came across many state schools who accomplished these three needs.
I am not sure what state you reside in but I work look into the online degree programs at your local public colleges.
Kinda dredging up an older thread, but I didn't see it until now and it kind of involves me so here goes:
Sorry I broke someone's heart
College (146): RA (134), NA (12)
ACE-recommended (105): Sophia (53), Study (28), Google (12), TEEX (10), Institutes (2)
ECTS (69): ENEB (65), LUT (2), XAMK (2) IN PROGRESS: Certificate- Google Data Analytics
Bachelor- Cybersecurity Technology (105/120) / Organizational Leadership (99/120) Certification- CompTIA A+ DONE: Certificate- Google IT Support Associates- Business Administration / BoG (History) Undergrad certificate- Computer Networking MBA
