Starbucks U and Stayer University
#1
Hi folks just got a company email that says I can take the following courses at Stayer University for free

BUS 100 Introduction to Business at Strayer University
ENG 315 Professional Communications at Strayer University
MKT100 Principals of Marketing at Strayer University
MKT 310 Retail Management at Strayer University

I'm wondering if anyone has experience in there transferablity to excelsior or TESC as I haven't seen other college lists courses with the "at Stayer University" I'm planning on a BA in Business with an emphasis on Human Resources at Excelsior.

I guess there are benfits when working for minimum wageSmile God bless Starbucks:hurray:

Strayer U is regionally accredited so EC will accept their transcript.

Strayer University is where I take my Cleps. It is a very expensive for profit school. But if Starbucks will pay for it good for u!

I took 3 classes at strayer and was able to transfer to a state community college with no problem - actually, they are a partnered school with my community college as well. They are regionally accredited, the same as TESC and yes very expensive sooooo I would jump on those free classes! I liked my experience with strayer and had no issues aside from paying for it (wasn't eligible for FAFSA). They use blackboard for the classes and my teachers were really easy to work with.

Starbucks is a great company to work for, the hours are irregular and the pay is minimum wage but if they pay $1,000 for college it has its benefits which are worth it. It takes a particular kind of person to work there. The ability to interact with the public while doing your job quickly. It requires menial labour washing toilets, scrubbing floors washing dishes. If that's not your thing then you could find work elsewhere. Check out Excelsior College's partner programs for companies that get a reduction in courses there.
