Oh that's good news, I wonder how much tuition will cost, they're now the newer competition to IGNOU "The People's University"!

Caution: The "nod" from UGC has NOT come yet. This is all from the "joys of anticipation" dept. Hold on to your money till it does.
If it does, I hope this Uni has better service than IGNOU. I'm still waiting for an answer to my 2008 enquiry there. I'm sure they're working on it....

Thiruvananthapuram is:

(1) Hard to spell.
(2) 8,568 miles from me.
(3) In the extreme west of Kerala State - in what Indians call their "Deep South" ... y'all.  Smile
(4) Featured here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thiruvananthapuram

How much is tuition, anyway? Didn't see it here. I could find out - but not tonight. Someone else's turn. Not feeling "worky" right now. Probably separate (much higher) schedule for us foreigners. Usually is. That way, we subsidize the locals. Nothing wrong with that, of course. But it reduces the bargain aspect. Just sayin'.

I've never known anyone on this board to attend any of these Indian universities.  I don't count Amity.  IGNOU is the prototype.  In some ways it's like UNISA except UNISA is open to anyone globally.  I posted the story primarily because it indicates that India is seeking to expand it's own resources and sees online programs as a part of that effort.  I hope this school establishes itself and does well.

I've known people on the other board to earn degrees at Don Bosco Global in India. Excellent school - run by an Order of the Roman Catholic Church. Bachelor's and master's. For US, RA equivalency no problem. Business and IT degrees - Bachelors and Master's. Several MBA streams. Available to students from anywhere. And they answer their correspondence!

And yes- most other Indian schools offer "distance learning" but they mean students in areas of India that are distant from their campus. I'm thinking now that Sree Nayarana Guru is one such school. IGNOU was supposed to be different. At that time they posted domestic fees, SAARC country fees and non-SAARC fees - i.e. all other foreigners. But I never heard back from repeated messages - so I gave up.
