Formula Plug In For ALEKS for those needing to complete the class with 24 hrs

Providing a spread sheet that answers every ALEKS question is cheating, and allowing it on this forum lowers the integrity of this forum.

That's exactly what we're doing here, debating the nuances of "cheating". If you accuse someone of cheating or being a cheater, that's kind of what happens.

I'm pretty sure that spread sheet does not answer EVERY ALEKS question, as I've already said. They are personal notes from the OP, and the OP couldn't possibly have encountered EVERY possible question. (Please someone correct me if the spreadsheet does in fact somehow contain all the answers.)

Further...

It is not this discussion or the spread sheet which "lowers the integrity" of ALEKS (or the schools which grant credit for it). It is the fact that it is an unproctored, essentially "Open book" course - that lowers it's integrity.

On this board of all places, we really shouldn't be playing "The credits I earned are more valid than the credits you earned" game.

Thanks to everyone who provides such awesome information on this site, I'm slowly getting the hang of this crazy process.

I do agree that the spreadsheet was an attempt to defeat the purpose of the course, but in defense of the OP, I would like to point out that modern day stats classes are usually taught using scientific calculators/excel sheets. It's not about knowing the ridulous formulas anymore, it's about knowing the concept of "why" and also knowing "what" to plug in. Now if this was college algebra we're talking about than it's a different story; as far as stats goes college professors know that no one is going to be doing statistics in their field by pulling out pen and paper to find least squares or find variance. They're going to plug the figures in excel and let the computer spit it out. I don't see any English professors telling their students not to use spell-check or MS Word.

So in summary, yes the spreadsheet was created to try and "game" ALEKs (which according to the OPs own adminttance didn't work). But in all honesty, if you went and did the course in college, you're going to be using excel anyway.

I can attest to this. My graduate-level stats course only requires minor calculations. My professor is more concerned with us learning the theory than how to complete the math because stats can be done with Excel or SPSS. Our textbook is filled with examples of how to complete problems using Excel and SPSS.

The VERY CLEAR difference, is that a) exam questions are against the TOS and not shared. b) content shared here still has to be carried into an exam in your brain.
