Down To My Last 3 Exams - Which Ones?
#1
Ok, I'm down to my last 3 DSST / CLEP Exams and I would like your feedback on which are the easiest / most doable while taking 2 exams a day? I have such a long drive to my test center that over the next month I will have the freedom of being able to take 2 exams instead of just one when I go due to my parents being able to be nearby with my kids. I know I have to take HTYH, so I'm looking to add one to piggyback with it and then 2 more on my other test day. I have listed below the exams that interest me the most, but would be open to any suggestions. I will say that I also need to take ECE's - Research Methods in Psychology & Human Resource Management, so any exams that will help me with these as well are great! I love crossover!

Here are my choices:
General Anthropology - I'm a biology science person, but I don't know about this one.
Criminal Justice - Another interest of mine!
Human / Cultural Geography - ?
Lifespan Developemental Psych or Human Growth & Development - Which is easier?
Fundmentals of Counseling - Would work with education focus.
Intro to Educational Psych - Again works with education focus

If you needed to take 3 of these and double them up which would be the easiest and most doable. I'm not worried about HTYH because I have been in the medical field for 25+ yrs. Please see the exams I have done and see if I have some crossover.

If you have taken these, please let me know what you think would be the best plan of attach!

Thanks!

Hey Marianne,

Human Growth and Development is Intro to Educational Psych have some overlap so that might be a good route to go in.Smile

I think you are just a few hours jam-cram away from Human Growth and Development. You'll get some health, ages and stages, some intro to psych, and you already did geriatrics which covers seniors, and your work in the health field ties all of this together really well. Being a woman, you might also have pregnancy, lactation, infant/child development in your experience bank. If you take that as an "easy" I'd say you could piggy back with a tougher exam (or at least moderate).

I took Anthropology and Criminal Justice- I think either would be good. I used the REA Anthropology Guide plus an online video lecture series (no longer active) and then for CJ I used the online Sparks Notes. In terms of easy- I'd say FOR ME it was CJ because we are exposed to some of this just by TV and living. (You'd know what an appeal is for example). Anthro wasn't hard- but it was all new (at least to me) but I found it exceedingly interesting! Knowing about biology is a help because you have to know the classifications and lineage. (species, genus, etc if I'm even remembering that correctly). Good Luck with whatever you choose!

I've taken the Human Growth and Educational Psychology. My pick for the second exam with your nursing experience would be Educational Psychology.

If Criminal Justice is an option then do that and if Intro to Law enforcement is an oprtion then you can study for 2 tests at once with the same material, I used Cliff Notes, and they could easily be taken on the same day. I passed them both and was down to the wire but I like the idea of not having to study 2 independent subjects....

* Fund. of Counseling
* Lifespan Human Development
* Educational Ph.

In that order. Good Luck
