South College, at the link Darknigh7 provided Wrote:The courses for this program are conducted in an online delivery format through a competency-based education (CBE) approach. A faculty model is utilized designed for a 1:1 faculty/student relationship that promotes and involves substantive faculty/student interaction. The faculty engage students through a variety of multimedia presentations, conversations, and qualitative and quantitative feedback. Each course will require successful completion of up to 7 CBE tasks/assignments that must be completed at the Mastery level before a successful completion of the course is earned.

I just peaked at all the CBE programs South College offers; trying out the DBA is really tempting at that price (6,000$ per 6 months)!
WGU MS ITM, 2021.
TESU BACS, 2020.
TESU BSBA, 2018.
TESU ASNSM in Computer Science, 2018.

Yeah, I'm considering the DBA-IT once I get to that point.

Yes, a potential option to complete this South College DBA IT for about $18K which is the same amount for a very similar DBA IT at Apollos which is only Nationally Accredited... I'm also looking at this program as well, waiting for just a bit more info before jumping in.

This is an interesting program. I had always wondered about the MBA vs Executive MBA but looking at the required courses it outlines it a bit better. The Executive MBA is geared more towards people who are already in the executive role while the MBA is more aligned to those in middle management and wanting to advance. I may have to see about adding this to my list of future courses.

Apollos is on Show Cause with DEAC and according to a November 2023 letter from DEAC to Apollos, Apollos notified DEAC that it intends to cease enrollments and allow its accreditation to lapse in December 2024.

Found this YouTuber who has been posting a lot about his experience with the South College EdD -> https://www.youtube.com/@lifebyjustin, he is a WGU alumni so quite interesting perspective. From what I understand he is on track to do it in 2 terms, but at like 5 hours per day. Would be great to have that guy do an "AMA" on this forum.
18 months seems achievable for someone who accelerated WGU and did the MS in 1 term. The courses are the courses, there are more papers to write but as with "everything" you stick to the rubric and you will get through. I would be more concerned with the Doctoral thesis.

Thanks for the interesting update, I didn't dig deeper into Apollos, I did see Anaheim and Aspen University and mentioned about the Aspen being on Show Cause. I wonder what's going to happen with these two as well...

I would love to see them do some tech focused doctorates outside of the DBA either stand alone or within the EdD. I’d love something within Cybersecurity. They’re growing quickly, so perhaps it will happen eventually.
