I did not do primary research. Most of the examples I heard about were surveys (often online) or interviews. My professor did participate in the discussions, but it was better to use the specific forums for questions (private or public). He also gave us his email address for more urgent requests.

Dunno, but I wrote one page for my introduction page. After properly formatting it, it turned in at six pages.
They use turnitin in portfolios, and there is something in the capstone coming up that needs it,too (trying to find my way at the moment)

In general, with the double spacing, margins, and 12pt Times New Roman font that is required you should be getting ~250 to just south of 300 words per page. Having multiple appropriate subheadings would drop that count, but only slightly.
In the capstone you have to provide an originality report from TurnItIn with the literature review (second chapter assignment) for it to be graded.

Has anyone sent in IRB approval forms to TESU's Institutional Review Board? I can not find where I send the completed form.

It depends on the school. Look up your irb committee member for your school and contact them.
