Sophia credits not accepted
#1
I have been informed that these two courses will not transfer to UMPI . My understanding was that they would. Could anyone offer any guidance?

For 2D Visual Communication from Sophia is what transfers.

For 3E you need a lab science so Human Biology with Lab or Intro to Chemistry with Lab from Sophia transfers.

Any idea on the difficulty of those vs UMPI equivalencies?

Side question, but did you need to take UMPI's COM/BUS 210 - Organizational Communication course? If so, did Sophia's Workplace Communication course fill it? There's some conflicting information on what Sophia course fills COM/BUS 210.

Also, I haven't taken Visual Communications on Sophia, but I know it does not have any touchstones. The biology lab does have touchstones.

Sophia Visual Communication is extremely easy. No touchstones, only a few units. It's a 1 - 2 day course at most. Human Bio is also pretty easy, the 1 credit lab component is just a little weird with the Labster program they use. It ran like absolute crap for me in Chrome despite that being a recommended browser. Had to switch to Edge, even though it was not a recommended browser, go figure.

The options for 2D from UMPI will take you faaaaaaar longer than Visual Communications.

You do NOT want to take a science lab from UMPI. It will take the entire term to complete. You will also have to wait for an owl pellet to be shipped to you. There are several lab reports you'll have to write at UMPI. Any lab science on Sophia will be faster and less work.

Do the Sophia courses. Much much easier & quicker.

That's correct, I would recommend completing everything through Sophia.org, it'll be cheaper, easier, faster than other options, open book and non-proctored.

When asking about the Sophia Biology (SOPHIA SCIE1021) with lab as the fulfillment of 3e that : "It's two separate courses to the best of my knowledge to fulfil the science requirement you are looking for."

Can anyone elaborate as to taking Sophia Bio w Lab and having it fill the 3E requirements at UMPI? It am receiving conflicting information.
