Hey guys!
Most of the oldies are probably gone that I knew from working on my BS....except I see cookderosa is still around! Hiiii!
I'm plunging back into the online education pool. Starting a Master's program tomorrow! I'm excited, and scared and sorta wondering why my little 80 credits in 10 months BS journey didn't scare me enough to stay away permanently.
I'm excited to be back here though, seriously. If you have any FEMA or TESC questions I'd be glad to help, and if anyone has any words of wisdom having to do with Master's courses and AMU specifically I'd love to hear them.

Welcome back.
I'm curious.....what sort of work are you doing in Emergency/disaster Mngt. ? I recently transferred into the field from EMS/Fire.

I'm always happy to complete the free application waiver for those applying to WGU (I get a free gift from WGU for this). Just PM me your first/last name and a valid email so I can complete their form.

I am a training and exercise coordinator for the state version of the Department of Homeland Security. I work with 1/3 of my state's counties in complying with NIMS training guidelines and doing exercises (drills, tabletops, full scales) as required by grant funds. It keeps me pretty busy!
What did you transfer into? EMS/Fire is a great way to cross over.

I was with the Orlando Police Dept. for about 10 years working on video and film aspects of Crime Scene investigations. Left that and became a Firefighter at a combo paid/volunteer house. Rose to Captain there. Went Paramedic where I would likely still be except that I worked for the last hospital based 911 service in Florida. They decided to give that away to the County as part of a friendly takeover by the local Trauma Center/Hospital Corp. When they closed the service I was fortunate enough to be able to move into the Safety & Emergency Management Coordinator spot at the hospital. ......I am also beginning work on my CEM Credential.....have you taken it yet? The test has been sent to the local testing center....I just need to schedule it and go pass it!
In addition to the EM functions I run the Haz-mat team and the hospitals call center and courier service.
