CLEP Principles of Management & DSST Principles of Supervision
Does it help to take one of these exams before the other....or does it matter? I know they both must have overlapping material....

Yes, they do overlap with management being the easier of the two...depending on who you talk to and what kind of experience they have under their belt. Either way, they are both very passable! Check out the specific feedback section for in-depth test advice/study techniques.
Check out this link...it is discussion on a very similar question asked very recently:

Thanks for the advice...I've been checking the Specific Feedback Section, but was just wondering if there was anybody else out there with feedback, especially since Supervision was just refreshed very recently.

I second that, I would take Management first. Yes there is alot of overlap. If you have some psy in your educational back ground, Org Behavior has overlap with Management and Supervision. Just a thought!
