You have enough RA credits already, I suggest taking everything from ACE/NCCRS sources and transfer them into TESU's degree. You just need to decide on completing 16 credits residency or paying the residency waiver. The template/last post addendum wasn't completed, so it'll be hard to decipher for you the best course of action... At this point, I would still recommend completing everything transferable through ACE and complete the 16 credits for residency unless it's cheaper to pay the residency fee.

TESU allows you to transfer up to 90 credits. I already have 77 credits transferred. This means I have four more classes to transfer from a different school.
I plan to take FDR 440 Fundraising for nonprofits at TESU since the mentor has good ratings.
The rest of the core electives @ TESU has to offer either bad mentor ratings or no ratings.

Yes, MCC is a community college. I did not know that I could transfer 114 credits combined.
I am taking PLA-100 now and learning about ACE and alternative credits so that I might explore this option.
So, if I am retaking Principles of Finance, this time with Sophia.com, would it not overlap? Do you think it can satisfy one of the core elective finance courses required for the degree?
Thank you for all this helpful information.

Sophia's Principles of Finance comes in as a LL class that does not overlap TESU's 300-level version. See https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/So...lency_List

Thank you, guys.
I will explore my options with the ACE sources.
(01-21-2023, 08:00 AM)Personherebb9 Wrote: If you're up for it, you can take a course through a finnish university known as XAMK. They currently have a course named "The basics of financial aspects in leadership, 5 ECTS". It's completely free of charge and self paced. Transferring in international credits can be tricky since you can't be 100% sure as what level or type of course it would transfer in as. My guess is that they'll probably give you 3 credits as a Finance elective.
If you want to try this, you would have to:
1) Register for the course under XAMK's website.
2) Finish the course.
3) Have the credits evaluated by ACEI
4) Send in evaluated transcript to TESU.
You would only need to pay for the evaluation, the rest is completely free.
I've seen 5 ECTS courses from XAMK be evaluated as 15 American credits, though that was for a separate course.
I wish you the best of luck. Thank you for the info.
I will look into it.

Just got finished looking at the Wayback Machine at TESU's degree plans, which used to have a MUCH better way of showing the degree plans with lots of options. Here is the Finance AoS from 2018:
• Financial Institutions and Markets OR Money and Banking
• International Finance
• Advanced Financial Management/Corporation Finance
• Advanced Security Analysis and Portfolio Management OR Investments II
• Business Forecasting
• Commercial Banking
• Capital Budgeting Management
• Capital Structure Management
• Derivatives
• Mathematical Analysis of Financial Decisions
• Risk Management
Just some suggestions, but it gives you a much better idea of what you can take.
You need 4 UL courses and 2 LL ones; if you take a LL Intro to Finance and an UL Intro to Finance, you can use one in the core and 1 in the AoS.

I did Sophia's course in a couple of days, it's pretty straightforward.
You can sign up for Sophia for free and go through the 1st lesson. They also allow you to download the pdf's for the entire course.
Hopefully, you'll take the red pill and break out of the Matrix soon. I'm rooting for you.

Yes, this is part of why we suggest people not talk to the advisors. Either they don't know what they're talking about (which is often) or they only suggest TESU courses (which also happens often). There is only one really good advisor (that we know of) who is consistently helpful and knowledgeable about bringing in non-TESU credits.

Thanks rachel83az,
Not sure if this is appropriate, but can you share the advisor's name?
Does anyone know where I can take Real Estate Finance that will count towards my core electives?
