Saylor has new ACE review courses for college credit
#1
So Saylor announced today, a couple of their courses have now received ACE recommendation!

I don't really like their courses, but it's a great for people who do like it!

Courses are Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, Sociology, Psychology & Environmental Ethics, Justice and World View.

They have now 20+ courses for college credit.

Saylor Academy now offers over 2 years worth of tuiton-free college credits with new ACE recommendations | Saylor Academy

Good luck every one to anyone who uses them!
Goal: BA/BS in Psychology

The site worded this as if they have a Psychology Ethics course available, and I was excited because that'd make TESU's BA Psych fully testable minus the capstone, but that's not the case. What they meant was their Intro to Psych, Environmental Ethics both got credit. Bummer.

Good news for people that need these though!

I appreciate the ability to take these courses for cheap. But, we already have about a thousand different ways to take Econ, Psych & Sociology. I really wish they would look at courses that are HARD to find, instead of these that we already have.

Glad to see Saylor's super low-cost credit offerings expanding, but I'm with dfrecore: it would be nice to see more variety out there.

I'm sure it's applicable to someone's situation, but I wonder how terribly useful a one credit Intro to Sociology is.

Saylor also removed most of its science courses. I have no idea why. They now only have two biology courses. I was going to use their other biology courses for PLAs, but I guess I'll be looking at SL, Study.com, and Uexcel instead.

Quick question --

With Saylor, can you jump right to the exam without having to work through their bizarre course setup? Or are there quizzes/other checkpoints you have to pass before the final is available?

I'm hoping to just read a textbook and take one of their tests instead of going through mountains of extraneous information on the topic

Am I right in thinking there are only 7 ACE approved Saylor courses now? There only appear to be 7 on the Ace credit lookup, but the Saylor website claims it has way more that are ACE accredited. Are they hidden under another organisation?
