I was going to post a thread about finding the textbook for Straighterline's philosophy class. The cheapest I found was $39 at chegg but with no free e-book. Couldn't find an ebook anywhere, actually. Maybe I'm just tired and need to search again after I get some sleep lol.
Do you know if we're allowed to use a different edition of the book? If I can find a different edition at a good price, I can get that. Does the proctor give you a hard time looking at the text? I have only ever used an e-book but most of the time I use my notes. It doesn't look complicated but I don't want to have any mishaps with the proctor when it's time to take the exam. So far, Straighterline has been working for me.

The edition of the book doesn't matter to the proctor. What you'll want to do is try and match up the chapter titles from the recommended edition to the alternative. Many editions are very similar except for an added/removed chapter.
