I am trying to sumbit a paper for a grade but when I cut and paste it into the box it changes the format of the paper. What am I doing wrong or is that normal? I don't want them to take points off because the format was wrong. I was able to send in the draft no problem.

I have read the directions and to sumbit your final draft you are required to cut and paste the essay in a special box. The direction even go into detail on how to do it. My concern is when I follow the directions the format of my paper changes.

I'm taking SL's English Comp 1 and was having similar problems. The great folks here on the IC Forum came to my aid with the solution...
If the instructions are the same for both Comp 1 and Comp 2 - DO NOT copy and paste your essay into the box - it will NOT submit in the proper format! Use the "Browse My Computer" button to upload your properly formatted file. If you then see a statement that says "Do Not Attach" IGNORE it - just hit the submit button and your essay will be sent in exactly as it appears on your word processor.

Thanks SuZQ2, I ended up calling and they said it was a known problem and told me to continue to follow the directions they give for submitting. The format would not affect my grade. I guess we will see when I get it back.

I also called my SL Advisor (twice) and was told they had never seen this problem before and to just submit it via copy/paste. I said I wasn't comfortable submitting an assignment that wasn't formatted properly since proper formatting was part of my grade! I then heard back from others here on IC - followed their advice - Problem Solved.

Update on submitting papers, I had no grading issues by submitting the papers how it tells you to submit them. I know people have figured out other ways but I followed the cut and paste process and even though the format of the paper changed my grades came back great! 18-20 on every paper. So don't be afraid to follow the directions straighterline gives you.

I had the same issue. It seems they use two different ways for submitting papers for Comp 1 and Comp 2. In my opinion I feel Comp 1 was way easier.
