SDC calculate points

Can someone explain to me how to calculate the points in the SDC English Composition II course?

The quizzes count for 10% of the grade, assignments 70% and exam 20%. Our son got 99/100 on the quizzes and 78 on the exam. There are 6 assignments, but they are not all weighed the same (some have a maximum of 15 points and some 25). He has not submitted any of the assignments yet.

How many points does he have right now, without the assignments? Is it correct that he needs 210 to pass, just like with the courses without assignments?

Clearly, I have a mental block when it comes to percentage calculations. Maybe I should take Liberal Arts Math again

Quizzes - worth 30, has 29.7
Exam - worth 60, has 46.8

What I don't understand is how many points does he need in the assignments altogether. If you add up to total maximum from all three assignments, you can get up to 100 points (10 from assignment #1, 10 from #2, 20 from #3, 25 from #4, 15 from #5 and 20 from #6).

Does he need 64 points then (64%)?

Yes, that's right, assignments need to be 64% or higher for him to pass the class

Here's another option to go by percentages, overall total needs to be at least 70% or higher.

Quizzes: 10%, current score: 9.9%
Exam: 20%, current score: 15.6%
Total: 30%, current score: 25.5%

Remaining: 70%, needed to pass: 44.5%
44.5/70 = 63.6% but rounded out to 64%
