SDC Papers
#1
How are so many of you able to complete so many courses a month while waiting on papers to be graded in the UL courses especially when you cannot take the final exam until the paper/papers are completed? (I just read on here that it can take anywhere from a week to two weeks to grade a paper.) How does the timing/billing work with SDC grading papers, revising, and resubmitting?  Do you just plan on each course taking more than one month?  (That makes the cost plan a bit.)  We finished the course quizzes quickly and easily.

Also, this is the first course/time taken to write a college paper or any research paper, and it is for Systems Analysis and Design CS 302.  The APA style has been studied.  The only courses left are 5 CS courses on study.com, and 2 courses from TESU, and it is a bit overwhelming.  I know what is coming from TESU, and that writing these papers is important to learn.  I read where the RUBIC on SDC is also very important to follow.  Does anyone have any other tips or clues on where/what to begin?

I am not even sure how if it is important to research other sources for this paper since that is not even mentioned in the instructions or the RUBIC for the paper?  I just think the references page would look barren with only one source even if the paper is a scenario based on the 7 principles of SDLC?

You don't have to wait to take the final. Many take the exam before submitting the papers or assignments.
When you do go to add the course to your ACE always use the date of the exam as your end date.

This course says you cannot take the exam until after the paper is completed.  This the first course taken from SDC so I thought all the courses were the same?

I had the same thing with my courses saying I had to turn in the paper before the final was available. However, I didn't have to wait for the grade on the paper to take the final. In any case, SDC got my papers graded same business day. Really fast on that this summer. It did take about a week or so to hear that the review of proctor session was ok. I knew the grade for final right away. That's different issue.
yep. try to use 3 sources on a 2000 word paper even if they don't say that directly like they did in my papers.
I know I was nervous with the idea that I might get billed for another month while waiting on grades, but it didn't happen. Everything was done before billing cycle. I've heard others on this forum who got everything turned in and then paused or canceled to avoid billing and then were still able to get final grade and transcript.
I'm not one who was able to do a lot of paper based SDC in one month. I know one trick of the trade is to do papers as much as possible from the info that shows before you sign up. So then you only have to make adjustments and go. And others who use the benefit of doing the non credit version until time to take test.
TESU: BALS June 2021 (comm college, clep, sdc sophia coopersmith, SOS110, and capstone)

Great ideas.  Thank you!!

The papers can be written later. I did the quizzes and took the finals, then canceled the subscription. Then I worked on the papers at my own pace and submitted them later. Once I finished, I just emailed them and asked to submit the paper, and they sent me a link where I could upload each finished paper. Then once it was graded, I emailed asking for the form to submit the request to send the transcripts out.

When you are working on the sources, make sure you use at least 3 external sources, not just other Study.com lessons.

This course from SDC does not allow you to take the exam until the paper is submitted.  There is no other way.  I wondered too about using the Pause button to submit papers??  I doubt that would work to resubmit though.  Thank you for your help.

Don't forget that you can subscribe at the middle tier for SDC, do the quizzes and work on the papers. Then when you're ready to take the exam(s), subscribe at the $200 level. Saves a bit of money.

I have never turned in the papers before the final, ever. They don't care if you do the papers after, don't sweat it. They don't even care if you turn the papers in 2 or 3 months later. You're just not going to get credit for the course until you turn them in, that's all.

The final is totally locked until the paper is turned in? There is no way to take it. It may be something new or just for the UL courses? Thank you for helping.
