Returning to UMPI for a Second Degree – Questions About Transcripts and Application

Hi everyone,
I’m hoping someone here can help clarify a few things about returning to UMPI as a second-degree student.
I previously completed a Bachelor of Liberal Studies (BLS) with a minor in Management and Political Science. Now I’d like to come back for the BABA in Management & Leadership.
I’ve already submitted my new application, but I have a few questions:

1. Transcripts
   • Do I need to re-send all of my previous college transcripts again?
     
   • Or will the transcript from my BLS degree at UMPI suffice since they should already have the other records on file from my prior application?
     
2. Returning Student Process
   • Are there any special steps or forms for returning students pursuing a second degree?
     
   • Is the application process any different from applying as a first-time student?
     

If anyone has been through this process recently, I’d really appreciate any insight on how it works and what to expect next.

Basically, there may have been minor changes done at UMPI, but that's only related to taking in Sophia.org, Study.com ACE credits that have been done after May 1, 2025. All other policies may have remained the same, nothing significant (such as when they started Your Pace, they only allowed 30 credits of alternative credits, they bumped that to 90 and gained many more students. 1) Unless you have newer classes elsewhere, they've got your transcripts. 2) Just apply, they'll tell you what else is missing if any.

Anyways, for reference, your previous thread, where the critical questions have been addressed, make sure to review what has been said here and the linked threads as well, I believe you're treading on the same thing, you're looking at a quick BBA with the M&L, but if there are just 1,2,3 or any classes less than 10, you'll have to make it up with anything, such as the 3-4 that go towards the Masters MAOL: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...e-BABA-M-L

You need to complete the online application and then just wait. You don't have to send transcripts unless you've completed courses elsewhere since you graduated.

I got 2 undergrads and MAOL from UMPI.

Let me make it life easy for you. MY BABA in accounting was only 7 courses to get me degree.

WHY?

I met their all BLS requirements and since i had time i completed multiple additional courses but that is not the catch.

many of the 30 credit courses are overlaped. So you only complete what are missing.
Here is an example: if i want this BA in Management (https://catalog.umpi.edu/preview_program...turnto=260)
i just will do 2 courses and i will get one more degree but if i want supply chain management i have 2 courses already in my bls and i just need to do total 6 courses and i will get in BA in Supply CHain

I answered your same question in another thread. Why do you keep asking the same question in multiple threads without bothering to reply to those who give you a response?
I'm failry certain that you cannot get another BLS degree if you have already been conferred one. If you haven't been conferred yet, then you ask to add the Business Admin minor to your existing BLS "major". If you have been conferred then your only option would be to enroll for another term and knock out the major requirements for a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a specific concentration. The most logical being in "Management and Leadership" as you have already completed that minor.

You can't get a second BLS. You would have needed to add a second minor before you graduated.

You might want to complete a different BA then you can add the Business Administration minor, or you can do a BBA with a new concentration or major. Thanks BJ. My Academic Success Coach wouldn't add a certificate or a minor for me. I hate to be negative but she was useless while I was a student and even less helpful now that I have finished. I spent a lot of time trying to increase my involvement at UMPI, joining UMPI clubs, trying to be elected to the Senate etc. It is shameful that I only learn about certificates and 2nd minors after I graduate.

On a brighter note I received the digital image of my degree, my first, from Parchment. My name is spelled correctly and the Latin honors are correct so I am happy about that.

Basically, since you already have residency credits at UMPI, I would shoot for another degree that can transfer in all the credits, then take the ones that can't along with the 4 classes that go towards the MAOL. You can add the certs and second minor of your choice if you ever wanted...
