Research Methods
#1
Did this one today. I felt IC was a good prep for it. I should have spent more time but I was in a time crunch to be done. I felt this test is harder then Adult & Aging and Gerontology but easier then Abnormal. About the same difficulty as Social Psy but I suspect the grading curve is easier then this one by looking at the statistics Excelsior published. According to their book, 15% failed and most got A's. I should know how I did in about two weeks. The key to this is understanding the definitions. Even though IC doesn't cover 100% of the material, I would say it made me more familiar with the material then any other test I have taken. This was a good set of flashcards. This was my last test to grad! I will continue to tell everyone about IC. A BIGBig Grin thanks to Steve!

Congrats Magic..that's a huge accomplishment.
I plan to take research methods and abnormal psychology after gerontology.
How many days did you study for each one and was instantcert enough for abnormal also?
Thanks,
Adoncia

I studied 10 days each for Social and Research Methods. Two weeks for Abnormal. I also got the Excelsior practice test. IC is enough for all their ECE tests but I would still spend the money on the practice tests Excelsior offers.
As for Social, I used the GRE Psychology book(both Kaplan and Princeton) and pulled a "C". Good resource for some of the other subjects too.

If your just starting out, I would recommend taking the GRE psychology. That will give you a wopping 30 credits(12LL/18UL) if you score well enough. It was easier for me to just take a few ECEs to finish sinceI was already close. Wish I knew about it sooner.

Thanks a lot Magic.I have scheduled Abnormal for Sat 6th Jan...don't know if i will be done studying by then.I can reschedule before 5th.
I am almost done with the Psychology exams.I have taken the lower level ones and need to take 2 more upper level,so the GRE route is not for me.
I need about 7 more exams to complete my BS in Liberal Studies.
