Any recommendations for a competency-based MBA program? I'm aware of WGU, but I genuinely hate proctor exams. I prefer writing as I get overwhelmed with proctor exams. Also, please provide some feedback on your recommendation with the course workload. Thanks in advance for the assistance.

For a start, there are Walden and Purdue Global.

Check out athena global education if ur ok with a european degree. Its not competency based tho. I think the duration is 9 months. One ~4000 word paper per module/course.

Does it have to be an MBA? Would an MAOL work? From what I understand, it’s pretty similar in many regards.

Looks like a more expensive ENEB. The university that grants the degree is accredited and recognized. I have a 3 year bachelors degree from the same uni and had it evaluated by spantran. It came out to be the equivalent of a 4 year RA bachelors.

Yep, that sounds like ENEB. Except ENEB is less than $500. Spending $5k for an MBA only to have it evaluated as a 4 year Bachelor's degree isn't idea. You can get actual MBAs for about that price. Or spend 1/10th the price and get an ENEB MBA: https://degreeforum.miraheze.org/wiki/ENEB

I'd love an MBA that's competency based without the proctored exams. I'd rather write papers. I personally HATE Examity and had issues with them when I was attending LSU. That's who WGU uses so I'm really considering looking elsewhere for my MBA. Capella has one, but it's Capella which doesn't have the greatest rep. Purdue Global is expensive. The terms are VERY short and I know how much work each course is in undergrad so I can only imagine how much work is in a grad degree there. Walden isn't an option in my state. They're not licensed to offer degrees here. I haven't found any other CBE MBA programs. Hopefully some day soon!
