REA (Research and Education Academy, I believe) publishes fine books. Generally, a CLEP manual will contain between 50 to 90 pages of information concerning the subject at hand, the majority of the book being taken up by multiple practice tests. I find all of the information an excellent supplement to Instant Cert's stuff.
(There is a general CLEP REA book available that contains just tests, but for all of the 6-credit general exams.)
