RA Courses that are Inexpensive ($400 or below)

I'm considering TESU. However, based on some recent posts bcoz I'm under 18 (& other issues I've to consider), I'll need 24 RA credits to transfer in to qualify for their waiver. I've got most of my GenEd classes done w/alternative credits (Sophia, SL, SDC, ALEKS), except I don't have any science w/lab & I've got to take one more Lang Arts/Eng class. Any recommendations for online learning that allows me (under 18 w/o a diploma/GED) to enroll for cheap? Preferably below $400/course. I found ASU, but would like more options too around $200 for out of state & online. Local community college is not an option for me anytime soon.

I think you have gotten TESU and COSC mixed up.

With TESU, you pay the waiver if you do not take classes with them specifically. You must take at least 16 TESU credits to not pay the waiver. TECEP tests do not count towards this. Transfering in RA credits does not remove the waiver requirement if you don't take 16 credits at TESU.

COSC only lets you bring in 90 ACE credits. These can only come from ALT credit sites with partner agreements: https://www.charteroak.edu/catalog/curre...r_inst.php 24 credits can come from RA sources. Charter Oak does not have a waiver at all no matter how many credits you transfer in.

Tel Learning has credits for about $66/each or $200 per course. If you want to go with COSC, this could be a good option. https://www.tellearning.org/courses-on-demand/

It is hard to beat the tuition of the (out-of-state) NM CCs for RA credits - I have personal experience with Clovis CC (NM) so I can recommend them based on that for distance learning.

TESU requires that you are at least 18 AND have a HS Diploma/GED.  There is no getting around that part.  The waiver you're asking about is on top of those 2 requirements.  A way around the 24cr of RA, if you're 18 and get a GED/HS Diploma, is to take the Accuplacer NexGen and score the required scores.

As for inexpensive RA credits, since you're under 18, you could do Dual Enrollment through a number of schools: Grand Canyon University is $210/course, and they have rolling start dates.  Bluefield College is $300/course, but they only allow 2 courses per semester.  NMJC is $70/cr for out-of-state tuition, and they also have a Dual Credit program but I don't know how much it costs.

Going forward, ASU EA is $400(+$25) per class, which may seem like a lot compared to some options, but it's risk free since you only pay the $400 at the end of the class IF you pass, IF you like your grade, and IF you want to.

So if life gets in the way, the class is too hard, or you just don't want/need it anymore, you're only out $25 and haven't affected your GPA.

She probably did not explain herself well. She will have her final homeschool transcript and diploma by next year, which is accepted at almost all colleges and universities. I think she wants to be able to enroll without taking the Accuplacer and transfer in her credits for either the Associates or Bachelors program. After we read the replies to her last post or was it my post? it was recommended she gather 24 RA credits to ask for the exception, which she is interested in. @samiam you can chime in if I missed something.
