So, you are essentially done - no, don't switch now. Finish and collect your degree. That said, an AAS will not transfer as smoothly as an AA or AS. What is your AAS in? Depending on your area of concentration, you may only be able to transfer in 30-45 credits for a BA or BS in Education depending on additional factors including the bachelor school's CLEP policy. No worries- just finish your degree and start where you are. Between CLEPs and the advice of people here, you'll be able to get through the whole process - even if you start at zero (which is what I did)
Should I wait to apply for grad with the Associates before switching my degree over to the BA in liberal studies? I just really want the Associates to make me feel like Im getting somewhere with all this college stuff. HAHA Appreciate you help.

The day after I got my AA aproval I changed to the BA program. I too want to teach I am hoping to go through the alternative program here in NJ and doing substitute teaching while I earn my BA. I would suggest you study and take the available education CLEP/DSST/ECE exams while you work on your BA it can't hurt and may help if you need to take a praxis later. If you want to take a good TESC class while on the ship I recommend the TESC childrens literature class. It is a lot of reading and writing, but I have found what I learned very useful in my teaching. I can not recommend any other TESC courses I have only taken that and the environmental course there.
:patriot: Thanks for serving and good luck with your plans
