Question for those who have passed the Chemistry Clep
#1
I have been studying for about 7 weeks now. I have used the Chemistry Concepts and Problems book, the REA book, several other books from the library. I have looked over many of the khan academy videos and also purchased teh Clep Professor CD and have watched every lesson on it. I took the Peterson's and hit mid 60's on all of them. I want to take the test Tuesday June 21st which is next week. I think I am ready but wanted to see what some of the Chemistry pros thought. Any feedback will be appreciated.

I'm not a Chemistry pro but if you're scoring that high on Peterson's, you're definitely ready...and you also used a lot of studying material. For the Bio CLEP I took, I scored in the high 40's and low 50's on Peterson's and still passed it... Good luck! I'm sure you'll do great Smile

I do not feel comfortable telling other people when they are ready for a test. To me, it is very individual.

I did list my practice test scores here for reference:

From another post of mine: "Judging from my results, I think Peterson's may have been easier than the real test, which is unusual. Keep studying, learn why you got the answers wrong, and take as many practice tests as you can fit into the time that is left."

You have put in the effort and used a lot of good resources. You also have another week to prepare. That was the time for me that the information started to really come together and make sense.

Best wishes on your exam!

As NAP said, it really depends, but you seem to be ready. Continue studying and I think you should be ready to take the exam next Tuesday as planned. Your resources seem good - my resources were not as good but I still scored a 60. I did not take the Peterson's practice tests for this exam so I cannot tell you about them, but I usually try to consistently get at least in the 60s on practice tests before I take an exam.

Good luck on the exam!
