Question for Excelsior Students...

Here's my dilemma:
I submitted my application to Excelsior about 3 weeks ago and--according to an admissions adviser, everything is going effortlessly. In the interim, I've acquired 15 credits whilst the unofficial evaluation review process gets completed (I intend to enroll immediately thereafter).

My question to the board is: what will happen to those credits I’ve acquired between that time (between application and enrollment)? After I enroll, how long will those interim credits take to get recognized by Excelsior? Also, immediately after I enroll, I intend to take the Business Policy course (starts May 4th) but some of the interim credits are core requirements that are, to my understanding, required as prerequisites for Business Policy.

I’ve asked this question over the phone, but the advisers keep giving me equivocal responses and tell me that I have to be enrolled before they can assist me with those types of questions…

Should I just wait until after I enroll, then ask this question?

Did you have the transcripts for the pending credits already sent to EC? If not I would request that immediately. EC will hold transcripts for credit for 6 months for students who may enroll. Once you get approved and enroll the credits would already be in their system waiting for you so it shouldn't take long for them to post to your transcript. I'm not sure you will make the May 5th course deadline if you need these for pre-reqs. But if they are already there they can just see them in your account even if they haven't officially posted. That should allow you to enroll in the course. But you will probably still need advisor approval for the course so you can make them aware of the pending credits at that time. I just completed an AS degree with EC and am waiting for my conferral to start the BS program, but my advisor told me I could continue to have transcripts sent and they would hold them for up to 6 months until I can re-enroll and they have an active transcript to apply them to. I would assume this is the same as a new person waiting for approval. I hope this helps.

I was able to take the course before finishing all of the other classes... You will need to be familiar with all of the business core material.
