I'm turning to all the experts here. I have decided to pursue a post-bacc certificate and I was going to test out of 3 courses that I teach, but they tell me today the exams cost $500 each! Does anyone know of any place that has these exams that I can take that would less expensive? I need these to be transferable and from an RA school. I'm under the gun to get these completed so I can start the core classes in January. I'm trying to find these, but I figure I could use some of the experts here who may know where to look and save me some time and frustration! Thanks in advance for you help.

Would the ECE for Pathophysiology work?
Straighterline has Pharmacology "coming soon".

This may not be useful, but TESC will automatically (no test) give you credit for classes you teach at an RA college- I earned 27 credits that way! They are listed on your transcript by title with "CR" in the credit field. Of course, a teenie part of me is asking "hummmm, why is Marianne getting a post bac cert?"

In any event, this might not work in their credit bank- I would absolutely ask, because that's only $400 and you'd get all 3 classes covered. I suspect it's for enrolled only, in which case, I don't know how you'd make it happen without the $2800 enrollment fee....but, it'd be no work- just money.

Thanks Jennifer, I will check into it. I know at EC I would have had to do a portfolio and the said it was a lot of work and money. I'm doing the cert because I only have 3 classes left before I finish my MHA, so I needed something else...NOT! I'm actually doing the post-bac cert so I can take a specialized certification exam. You can't take the exam without going through their program. It stinks of money and greed, but this is the fastest way to do it. It is basically a step backwards in a sense, but also a cherry on top of my MHA whipped cream! That will finish me out and cover me for many work options down the road, including university teaching, since my programs don't require a doctorate, just this certification along with a masters. I just wanted to cover all my bases because I know having just had another birthday, once I stop school, I won't go back. I'm too old and tired of doing homework!

Mine have been 275.00 for ECE exams through TCN and Prometric. I know how you feel. I've been an LVN for 21 years and am 48 (49 next month). Now going for BSN (finally!). I have been back for one year, and have passed:
Microbiology
Sociology
Transition to Professional RN Role
English II w/ Essay
World Religions
Art of the Western World
Supervision
Lifespan Psychology
I take what I can through DSST and CLEP, with the rest being ECE.
