One of the few benefits of working for a huge company in the corporate world. My TESU degree was almost 100% paid for by my employer, and my WGU degree should be as well. I'll take it!

Seriously? Oh wells, hope it's a turning point in a few years that they'll change it to a not for profit model. Only one can hope...
It may not be this year or the next, but I think they'll sooner or later modify it to better conform to what they currently have.
They'll be in a transitioning stage, right now they'll most likely keep it "business as usual" before that change occurs (whenever).

Haha, that's awesome. I should look for a better company, but staying put until I do. I'm satisfied with whatever cert they pay for.
I can't ask for too much, at least that reimbursement for certs will get me in the door to other positions for a cheap investment.

Great news on the school tuition reimbursement that's excellent. I own a business, so technically my employer pays full tuition too but seems like you might have a better school deal
Interesting take on Kaplan possibly staying as a For-Profit. One would imagine there would be a transition if not early then over time. However, this could also be a really strong earner for Purdue causing a moral conflict come decision time.

Almost every company I've ever worked for, big or small, has had some sort of tuition reimbursement policy. It may not be full reimbursement, but they had something for their employees. I've taken advantage at every single place. Some paid for CC courses in my field (accounting at the time), others paid for expensive courses at a private university (limited on the amount each year), but all of them have paid for me to go to school at least 1 course or semester.

definitely hasn't been my experience, but i'm glad it's common even with the smaller companies

I should have mentioned Silicon Valley, that might make a difference. Even in the early 90's, they were all trying to compete with each other for talent, so their benefits packages were probably better than the average company out in the US.

Not surprising dfrecore. The US number continues to go up and a recent read showed us at around 65% of companies having some form of tuition reimbursement. My wife is from German and would say "And You Are Proud Of This"? ![Wink Wink](https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/images/smilies/wink.png) Our daughters will have this opinion as well once they transfer over into German University in 2018. Dual citizenship is the gift that I really really appreciate!

I think it depends on the industry. If you work for a security company, you would be lucky to have any kind of retirement benefits. I came across a couple of companies that didn't even offer health insurance before Obamacare. I didn't start seeing tuition reimbursements until I got my first government job. I also worked for a large non-profit with tuition reimbursement.
