This isn't new, it has been out for a while though most people aren't aware of this.
There is a free course called "Critical Reasoning" offered by TESU licensed under Creative Commons BY Attribution 3.0 license.
https://sites.google.com/a/courses.tesc....reasoning/
This is the exact course you get if you pay TESU $1500 for the course. There are no books to read.
Also, study the glossary terms if you want to pass the test on TESU if you take the actual course.

It's a pretty short course to go through, maybe around 10 hours.

For those who need RA credits, this is a great option if you take the corresponding TECEP https://www2.tesu.edu/tecep.php?CourseCode=PHI-130

I'm not familiar with how TESU works. Is there a way to take this course for free and get ACE credit? I'm assuming this would likely transfer to WGU as "C168 - Critical thinking and Logic".

You would need to take the corresponding TECEP for $50 registration + $150 exam fee.

No, because schools don't give ACE credit for things (I guess PF does, but it's not an RA school).
This specific course is just out there as a free course, with no credit attached to it. But, what you can do is take a credit-bearing exam that corresponds to the information in the course.
It would be like taking a free course from MIT OpenCourse - you're taking it for the sake of learning the material, not for getting credit. You then have to figure out how to get credit for knowing the info.
