Well, I just took the Public Speaking DANTES yesterday. YIKES! haha I read all the posts I found here on the forum. And I studied the resources many of you suggested. So thank you, thank you for that. I really do appreciate all the info and hints people provide!
And, actually, my topic for the speech was not one of the ones on here. I had to support the position of a 12 month school year. They did not give me the option of being against it. And they also told me who my audience was.
As for the multiple choice part. Like everyone else has said, know the different kinds of speeches, know the terminology. And you'll be all set.
The best resource I used was The Art of Public Speaking I had actually bought a textbook, The Elements of Public Speaking, and I realized as I compared the contents of these two books, that they're very much the same. And this one is online and free. And really, you only have to read the summary of each chapter. They also have study questions and flashcards that were very helpful.
So now comes the wait. We'll see. [/SIZE]
