Psych/Soc Online Programs w/Credit-Bearing Internships
#1
So I was just roaming the Internet unattended today and I stumbled across this. They charge $320/cr hr, which isn't cheap, but it's still cheaper than TESU. The reason I thought it was worth posting is this: look at their online sociology & psychology programs. They offer up to 6 credits for a Psychology or Sociology Internship (PSY 443, SOC 490). Now, you have to be enrolled in either their psych or soc program, and there are prereqs...but it's a credit-bearing option and a good resume builder for people lacking experience in the field. If the whole program isn't of interest, it might be worth starting just to get the credit-bearing internship hours, and then transfer. I'm not a social sciences person, so I'm not able to offer any insight on the program(s) overall. (And no, I'm not a recruiter for them, but they advertise heavily in the Boston area and keep adding new online and B&M programs.) Also, they'll accept up to 90cr transfer: 30 *must* be done with them in total, and *all* of the last 24 (including 12 in the AOS) must be with them. So if you did the minimum 30cr, that's almost $10K. Not the best out there, but not bad.

SNHU
Psychology (with possible concentrations: Addictions, Applied Psychology, Child & Adolescent Development, Forensic Psych, Mental Health, Social Psych)
Sociology (plain, or with a concentration in Community Health)

It's not cheaper than TESU. The Per Credit Tuition Plan is for those who plan to take few courses at TESU. Everyone else is supposed to pick the Comprehensive Tuition Plan, which is cheaper than SNHU. If you want to get credit for an internship, it's required for TESU's human services program.

Oh, I didn't see any actual courses that fit the same description @ TESU. Well, carry on then, social scientists. Wink
