HELP! I need help fast ~ TIME CRUNCH ~ Penn Fosters Consumer Behavior ?
#1
So I thought I was finished and have applied for graduation in December!! Just found out last night I'm UNDER .32 credits!! I mean REALLY??? I thought I had it all figured out. I'm short in Business Electives. Decided to do DSST Inro to Computing BUT TESC then said no... it's too much like a credit I already have. I thought about Penn Foster's Consumer Behavior. Obviously time is a factor. (PLUS I live overseas so the books will be delayed) These are my questions:

CAN I take the tests and pass without the book?

Can the research project be done without the book?

Is the proctored final open book?

And let me quess... are the discussion board postings spread out weekly??? So I have to take 3 of them ( assuming this part will take 3 weeks overall?)

Thanks for any feedback/suggestions

Will they not take one of the TEEX Cybersecurity series as a business elective? Other people on the forum have had Cybersecurity for Everyone transcribe as CIS-299 under business electives.

If you are looking for fast, you might want to have a look at KCTCS. I have finished courses in as little as a week and they transcribe quick. You just have to be sure to claim non-credential seeking when you apply so there are no transcript requirements. Most of the courses I have taken follow the format of read a chapter take a quiz with a module final after 3 or 4 chapters. They will even let you sign up for a single module to get 1 credit. Their prices are not the cheapest but the courses are self-paced.

I agree with KayV, one of the TEEX courses would more than likely be the fastest option but you would need contact an advisor to be sure they would accept it as a business elective for your program. I remember them being a bit picky about the couses used in HR/OM AOS, don't know if the same applies to the electives.

PF Consumer Behavior has a proctored exam so could not be completed quickly. You might consider ENG121 Business & Technical Writing.. The course has two MC exams and three written assignments that build up to a final project that is submitted online. You could complete this course over a weekend, at the most four to five days. This course transfers to TESC as ENG-216 and meets the managerial communications requirement. Your SL Business Communications course could then be moved to business electives.

If you decide to pursue the bus & tech writing course send me a PM.

Thanks for the quick responses.. I still can't believe this happened.

SO I googled TEEX Cybersecurity ~ Just to make sure this is through Texas A&M engineering? Do I have to wait for a book? Do I have to go through a registration process? Any information would be great! I'm going to the website now to see If I can make heads or tails of it....

I see there are 3 different Cyber security classes. ( Business professionals, IT professionals, for everyone) Wonder which one goes under business electives?

Anyone know the cost?

Do you just read the info online and test?

Thanks

The cost is free. Other posters have reported using all three of these courses for business electives in the BSBA at TESC, so you can pick any one of them. You just take them, then transfer the credits to your ACE transcript.
TEEX Cybersecurity
Taking the CYB 101 series gives you credit for CIS-299; CYB 201 counts as CIS-344; and CYB 301 counts as MAN-299. CYB 101 would probably be the most expedient.
One thing that is unique to this series: you have to make sure you get 80% (not 70%) to receive ACE credit.

There is a long thread about the TEEX courses: http://www.degreeforum.net/general-educa...-teex.html
Good luck!

@SaharaPost "this might be for your next step"

Upton, how do you get them sent to your home college if you sign up while not seeking a credential? Does this mean you aren't seeking one at KCTCS and can enroll in individual classes/ modules
Don't forget that gaining college credit by taking exams is one of the reason's we're here. That's mainly possible through the flashcards made available by the owner of this forum : InstantCert Plus of course your hard work in learning and reviewing

Thanks so much!! I will get started now. The business section does not say upper level. I only need .32 credit. And the description says I can take any classes relating to: accounting, banking, business, computer
> applications, computer information systems, finance,
> management, hotel/motel/restaurant management, insurance,
> operations management, public administration, real
> estate, law, marketing, and retailing management,
> fundraising

So I feel confident any of these TEEX classes will work ~ Thanks so much again! This thread just may have saved my graduation in
Dec!!
