Principles of Managerial Accounting is a management core for the ASBA degree from TESC but where does it come from - is it CLEP, DSST, (other?) ? I've looked in the specific exam feedback & have seen where the Principles of Financial & Managerial Accounting for 6 credits was discontinued a good while back & now the CLEP Principles of Financial Accounting is offered for 3 credits as well as the DSST Principles of Financial Accounting but what about the required Principles of Managerial Accounting? My daughter is getting relatively close to finishing the requirements for the associates degree & I really need to understand better about how to meet this requirement. Where does the exam come from & how does one prepare?
Thanks to everyone for the help!

There is no exam for that requirement. I was trying to get an Associate's in Business from TESC and the ONLY way you can fulfill that requirement is by taking the class from TESC. Classes are 12 weeks long... I can't comment on how the workload is, as I dropped it after failing the DANTES Financial Accounting and suffering through one-two more months of study for the CLEP version.
But... if you need the e-Book for that course, I think there may be a way I could get it to you. (It's a ridiculous price otherwise).

Managerial accounting can also be done through Straighterline, under Accounting II. I'm signing up tomorrow, since I have to do this one as well.
Has anyone else taken the Accounting I and II courses through Straighterline? Have any advice or tips that would be helpful, or is it fairly straightforward?

Here's some feedback I found, Tasman. Good enough for me; I'm taking the plunge!

Hi,
I'm going to do Accounting I and II through Straighterline. I will apply to Fort Hays State University to transfer my credits to Excelsior later.
If I can finish both in a month it will be cheaper than 2 CLEP exams. I read all the feedback in the other thread as well, and it all sounds great.
Good luck to all of you as well!
Jody
