How are the Uexcel exams different from the excelsior exams? Is this just a second venture for Excelsior or are they a replacement for the ECE exams?

It looks like Uexcel is Excelsior's foray into a CLEP/DSST alternative test. All of the Uexcel's tests are Lower Level credit, where most(?) of the ECEs are upperlevel credit.
I think they're trying to grab some of the CLEP money with this venture (especially because they won't accept the English/Freshman Comp CLEP tests, and offer the English Comp test that they do accept, as well as offering a 6 credit Physics test, which neither DSST or CLEP offer.) It should be pretty interesting to watch their offerings over the next couple years.... And at $85, its not a bad deal.

Now don't try to get away, I am more muscular, more cunning, faster and larger than you are, and I am a genius, while you could hardly pass the entrance examinations to kindergarten, so I'll give you the customary two minutes to say your prayers.

I believe in the past I saw posts where some forum users participated in "beta testing" and got some free credits. Then it was not available for awhile and now it is available. I agree that it appears to be an attempt to give CLEP and DSST a little competitioni and at the same time get some of that income.
What I saw that was interesting is that they offer a statistics test for about $85. I was thinking that for the brave, they could study on their own and try to CLEP and have this as a back-up alternative. But for me it still seems that Aleks would be the best way to go.
