Please post which Certifications/Training courses translated into Big 3 courses

Update Excelsior still gives credit for the GRE Computer Science subject exam.

The GRE scores below are still valid.

630 score: 3 LL credits satisfying the Intro to Computers requirement
650 score: 6 LL credits satisfying above plus High Level Language requirement
670 score: 9 LL credits satisfying above plus a second High Level Language
680 score: 12 LL credits satisfying above plus Discrete Math requirement
690 score: 12 LL credits, 3 UL credits satisfying above plus Data Structures requirement
710 score: 12 LL credits, 6 UL credits satisfying above plus Computer Architecture requirement
720 score: 12 LL credits, 9 UL credits satisfying above plus Operating Systems requirement
730 score: 12 LL credits, 12 UL credits satisfying above plus UL CIS elective
770 or higher: 12 LL credits and 18 UL credits.

Further update, there is a maximum of 9 credits for vendor certifications applying to the IT Core requirements.

Much to my dissapointment, neither the PMP nor the CISSP is awarded credits through Excelsior.

This is where ACE evaluation comes into play. Sec+ is worth 2 UL, but the CISSP is worth none, all because one has been evaluated and one hasn't.

So basically if you don't want to take a course from TESC, Charter Oak, or Excelsior you can just take a self graded, or self administered, or non proctored, (whatever you call it when you can't fail, and or can look up the answers) and can apply certain courses taken that give certification, licences or whatever to recieve credits to fullfill course/degree requirements.

Which Courses go to which colleges of the big three? So far the list that has been mentioned has been pretty low and has only included a few options getting credit for EC and TESC.

My goal is to get a degree from one of the big three using this method.

Actually, no, that is not it at all. The certifications and tests mentioned in this thread all have a cost, and most of them are not easy. They're all proctored & taken at specific testing centers, they're definitely not open book and you can fail them. I've blown a test or two, and I've had a few friends and students that had to retake some of their tests.

The only credits that seem to match what you're looking for are the FEMA credits and 2 classes from the National Fire Academy which you can get ACE credit for.

I do not believe your goal is attainable. No college, at least no accredited college would issue a degree that is based completely on coursework that requires such little effort.

Now if you want to learn alternative ways to earn credit that require effort, such as taking exams for credit, or courses that are ACE reviewed, etc . Then I believe you will find this forum a goldmine.

Of course , the effort and time one is willing to put into searching the forums for answers, will directly relate to the success achieved.

The same can be said about earning a degree.

Ofcourse your right, sorry for presumming otherwise. What courses are ace approved that I can use for any of the big three other then the fema and NFA courses that were mentioned or any courses for that matter that are not ACE approved.

I understand you are trying to find the "easy way out", but you are going to have to do some of the research yourself.

This forum is full of the answers you seek, I know you can find them.

Use the search feature on the forum, the search google site search option works wonders for finding answers.

As for the courses mentioned on the ace site, can I take any of them on the actual ace site or do I have to take them through a third party?
