List of finished classes... what do I do from here?
#1
I need help finding the right direction to go in. Right now, I'm in Japan and I need to get a bachelors degree as quickly as possible. In anything.

CLEP and DSST tests are not impossible, but very difficult. There's only one testing center in Japan that's open to the public. The rest are for military members.

The most ideal setup would be self-paced classes with non-proctored finals so that I can work day and night and finish quickly. I believe I can get financial aid. I'm checking into it now. If I can't, I can only spend a few hundred a month on education.

Right now, speed is the most important factor.

I have 71 credits total. My B&M school (murraystate.edu) offers a generic "Integrated sciences" degree, and I'm only 49 credits short for that, but they refuse to tell me if they accept TECEP, SL, etc, etc. The transfer office said they will not give yes or no answers to "hypothetical" credits. I would have to take the tests or classes, then re-enroll and hope for the best.

My credits are kind of all over the place so I don't know where they will fit as far as a degree plan or which degree is best for what I've already done.

I'm open to just about any suggestions.

And just curious... I noticed that Bethel will take over 40 credits from TEEX... I just discovered this about an hour ago so I'm still doing research, but can I finish that way? Or is that only lower level classes?

Anyways, like I said, self-paced and proctor free is the preferred method. Webcam proctoring is the second best, I think, considering the huge time difference here.

What I've completed so far:
Cr. Class Description
3 COM161 Intro to Public Speaking
4 ENG105 Reading, Writing, Inquiry
3 MATH117 Math Concepts
3 THD104 Theatrical Experience
3 PSY180 General Psychology

3 CSC199 Intro to Information Technology
3 JPN350 Japanese Literature in Translation
3 RES132 Real Estate Principles
3 RGS200 Intro to Religious Studies
3 ART121 Art Appreciation

3 CET284 Sustainable Design
3 ECO230 Macroeconomics
5 MAT230 Technical Math 2
3 PHY130 General Physics

Please help!

Given your parameters, I think your best bet will be a BSBA in General Management at TESC. So you can get started now on earning credits for Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, Trig or Precalculus, and Stats from ALEKS.
BA, MA, EdS, MMT, etc.

kavV has the right approach. For little or no money you can cover your math requirements at the big three through Alex which at $20 per month you should be able to afford to plan for a CLEP at the Japanese testing center. A recent forum member recently returned stateside to take 3 CLEP tests per day for over a week in order to secure his credits. Not recommended but it can be done. A high speed train ride and two CLEP tests would still be less expensive than online financial Aid classes. Did you file taxes for 2013 while you were resident in Japan if so you should visit the FAFSA site and input your income and see what happens that way you'll know were you stand.
Don't forget that gaining college credit by taking exams is one of the reason's we're here. That's mainly possible through the flashcards made available by the owner of this forum : InstantCert Plus of course your hard work in learning and reviewing

I'm assuming they only accept ACE-approved TEEX courses. I searched hard for online, ACE-approved TEEX courses. It looks like the cybersecurity courses are the only ones offered online for a total of 6 credits. The rest of the TEEX courses are face-to-face.

Thanks for the info!

I have 13 credits in math right now... none of them will do any good? I've applied to TESC but haven't had a chance to send them my transcripts yet. It's a little difficult from the other side of the world lol.

Is there any other classes that I definitely need and can start studying for right away?

Okay, I tried to post this last night but the forum was down. You just need College Algebra and Stats for a BSBA, so complete those two with ALEKS. Some of the classes you already have will not fit the degree plan, but I suggest the BSBA because of the Capstone for Liberal Arts majors. You could use all your credits with a BA in Liberal Studies or with Excelsior or COSC, but once again, all of these require you to take an actual class. FWIW, I did check your classes with Athabasca, but they would almost all transcribe as LL credit, and you need 45 UL credits there to graduate.
