FYI I just talked to Penn Foster. I left a message for Mary Ann to sign upfor IL She called me back and transfered me to customer service to sign up and as of July 15th the are no longer letting you sign up for just information literacy. They are marking you sign up for 3 credits min. You can't just sign up for this course without signing up for something else. Very dissapointed in that. She said they have some technical math course I can sign up for that is 2 credits. I do nothink EC will take that as a math for AS Liberal Studies. I guess I will ahve to jsut take IL at EC.

That is disappointing to hear. Penn Foster's IL was in my very near future... like next month.
I am one credit short in my degree plan at the local cc; IL would have satisfied that need as well as the EC requirement for my BS later on.
Bummer.

On the contrary, I took the PFC Tech Math 1 as my math requirement for EC.
The course is ACE Reviewed as either a 3-credit course (as a grade) or 2-credit course (as either P or F).

WOW Thanks for your feedback ShotoJuku. That may work out for me after all. Bummer for some others but in my case it may work out well.

I took the information literacy course by itself less than a month ago, no problem. Maybe you just need to get in touch with a different person.

Very sad indeed. I was planning on calling PF tomorrow to sign up for this course. I now regret not taking it sooner. Getting a degree can be a frustrating process sometimes.

What school are you going to?

Excelsior. I'm still in the process of finishing my official evaluation though.

Seriously though, I had no problems at all signing up. Both my wife and I have taken information literacy very recently and that is the only PF class we have taken. Either the person who dealt with me or kisseld make a mistake. I took the class and the transcript is on its way to EC right now. I think wb.john should attempt to sign up and see what happens and let us know!
