North Korean Defector Warns about Socialism in the U.S. and Describes Mistreatment

North Korean Defector Warns about Socialism in the U.S. and Describes Mistreatment of North Korean Defectors in South Korea and China.

Quotes:
"South Korea is so racist, they won't let a non-South Korean get a job as a waitress."

"Women are sold, then are rapped in China and usually die out within 6 months"

Now, don't get me wrong, many of these countries are great places to visit as a tourist, etc., but beneath the surface lie deep levels of institutional racism that hinder anyone who isn't exactly South Korean from securing a job there, except for a few roles such as teaching ESL.

Funny how there are no Twitter bios saying "end racism in South Korea" or "end slavery in China." Hmm.

korea racism site:twitter.com shows the issue is discussed on Twitter.

Quote:or "end slavery in China." Hmm.

Similarly plenty of discussion of 'slavery China'. (How much readers in China will be able to see, doubtful. How much soft censorship will occur outside China when the owner of Twitter depends on selling cars in China, also a question.)

Have you not been following the Chinese genocide of the Uyghurs? The history of discrimination against Korean people and other ethnic minorities in Asia? Japanese colonization? No offense, but being unable to find news about these issues seems like a skill issue. Maybe you should expand the types of news source you consume from more than social media.

Well, that is true, it would be pretty rare to hear someone talk about the abuse of North Koreans in China on mainstream media or trending on Twitter.

I bet you $100 that I can change you from a socialist to a communist in 5 min

Socialism: a political and economic theory of social organization which advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole.

Socialism is slavary.

South Korea, China and Japan have varying degrees of extreme xenophobia as well. However, the US criticizing a country for racism is very much a "pot, kettle, black" situation.

CEOs are socialists when it comes to losses and bankruptcy - "Privatize profits and socialize losses".
Capitalism is great when you get to keep other people's money.

Fun exercise - run the list of "happiest" countries in the world against the most socialist first-world nations.

Well, you opened up a can of worms with the which countries are socialist debate.

I agree with you that capitalism isn't perfect. There are plenty of cases where people have been screwed over by caplisim, including paying $35,000 for Trump's university.

Introduce a bill in the U.S. House of Representatives for most any Nordic-style policy and a Republican will accuse it of being socialist.
