Hello ladies and gents. First I wish to thank Rebel100 for his advice in getting me over here to pick up some ideas about possible clep/dantes, and hooking up with big three. For starters, allow me to give you an idea on credits, and schools I have. Perhaps some of you may guide me in obtaining a Bachelors degree via clepping out or Dantes or maybe some cheap old fashioned correspondence courses. My only experience with Clep was Spanish, however, I would like some help in getting started with trying to daantes my way around or clepping my way around to a bachelors. Please note, I am a very cheap individual, and I want my degree the cheapest possible way. I need details, particularily on where to get study materials for testing out. I don't want to waste 95 bucks a pop because I didn't know enough. Thank you.

I think most of my courses are lower level however, I hear that maybe they make some lower level upper level courses??? Who knows? Was thinking along the lines of Business degree or whatever most credits will give me the better bang in a Bachelors degree.

AS I mentioned to you I would look long and hard at this degree from TESC Thomas Edison State College: Aviation Flight Technology I suspect your very close.
Otherwise a liberal studies BS is a good idea, COSC or EC will likely be a bit cheaper than TESC if you go that route. Did you look up the ACE recommendation for your pilot and mechanic training? I don't know how that will stack up, but it may be a big bunch of credit. http://www2.acenet.edu/credit/?fuseactio...stLetter=F
I believe your closer than you think.
review specific CLEP/DSST here at IC (once your ready to study join up for $20/month and access the flashcards and specific exam feedback) also look over each exam at freeclepprep.com , good resources there too

What I see that's missing BSAST, and where to get it:
English Comp 2, Straighterline or CLEP (I think SL is the best bet here) $100
Statistics, DSST or SL or ALEKS...ALEKS is cheap and can be fast $20/month till your done
College Algebra, SL or DSST or CLEP or ALEKS....ALEKS gets the nod again. $20/month till your done
physics 1 and2, I know SL has Physics 1 skip the lab $100, dont know when they will have Physics 2. University of Idaho has both at $300 or so a course http://www.uidaho.edu/academicaffairs/is...se/physics
General Chemistry, CLEP or SL You only need 3 credits so no lab...I think I would do SL here too, more straightforward. $100
AST: Current Trends & Applications, probably only available at TESC Whatever the TESC cost is
All but the AST Trends and Apps course should be available online/self paced. How fast you get it done will depend on you...but by the end of the year seems doable. Imagine...a Bachelors by December from where you are right now, and from a regionally accredited college at that!

29palms - I understand that you are cheap, I am too, however being a cheap person should also involve your own personal time investment. So think about that. I am cheap but I did not spare any expense on things like books, iPad apps to help me study, Straighterline costs etc. Time and money are synonymous and if you spend a little money to save time, you will feel like you got a bargain, trust me.

There's nothing more valuable in life than time.

PrLoko-isms
Don't waste time by trying to save time. The only sure way to complete your degree is to knock out credits quickly and efficiently.
Don't let easiness bite you in the rear. Know your endgame (where you want to be) and plan backward from there. Your education is a means to an end.
Be honest professionally, socially and academically. There are people (especially little ones) who look up to you and they're going by your example.
Be proud. Whether you're an Engineer or Fast Food worker, there is honor and dignity in hard work.
Picking on people weaker than you only proves that you are a weak person.

Time is the one thing you can never get ahead on, or stock up for the future, pack into a retirement plan, or bring with you when you go somewhere. It's priceless. And the things in life that allow you to do more things with your time should also be valued.
