I just wanted to put something out there. I get lots of PM's from people asking me questions. I would guess that at least 90% of the questions are ones that would benefit others on this forum, and 75% are questions that could get answered by just about anyone, and many times would be much better handled as a crowd-sourcing thing than a single person.
Not that I mind getting the questions, but always try to ask yourself if you want to limit yourself to one person's answer, as well as whether it needs to be PM'd. Seriously, so many questions are ones that lots of people ask, so go out and ask it!

Further to this, please do a search, so you don't keep asking the same questions over and over. I get PM often as well, and one last thing, turn ON your PM option otherwise I can't reply to you. In these cases, I usually create a thread and have your alias in the subject. I agree, having the question open gives more opportunities for different answers, but the majority of the time, you will get the same type of answer. Have fun reading, researching and reviewing threads to get a hang of things...

I will say that I did not tell people to do a search, because I find that it is really hard to do so. You get tons and tons of answers, and there is SO much to go through that it's not always helpful.

Maybe it's user error but I hardly get good results from this forum's search function. I often put in a couple key words to find an old thread that I knew were in it, only to get no results. So I broaden it up and get hundreds of results.
I actually fare better just using Google to search for degreeforum posts.

I still can't find the post where someone listed the TESU course equivalencies for a bunch of CSU-Global exams they took. Haven't been able to find it, and I've tried. I'm sure it's user error, but I bet I'm not the only one with this problem.

I get a lot of PMs but I agree they’re not best asked in the open so someone else’s might benefit.
I always have to use google search and use the site flag to find anything. This forum software is terrible, the upgrade didn’t help much.

That is what I do here as well as the other forums I visit, it works great. Usually better than the forum search.

I am one of Jennifer's moderators on her state Homeschooling for College Credit pages and it is really hard not to cringe when a new member jumps on within 5 minutes of joining and asks the same questions that are answered 100 times over, if they had just read some of the past posts. But, I smile and answer nicely and then suggest they read the older posts. There is a LOT more material here, though! I have to say that you guys rock!!!!

Type in your search keywords as you would here in the Google search box then add site:degreeforum.net at the end - it causes the search results to be limited to only this site.
