Looks like for TESU, a lot of your credits are Free Electives, so the BALS is definitely better for you there. Since you have an AAS, WGU won't block transfer your credits, so you'll have to do those as well. But just in case, you might want to apply and see what they say about that.

Thank you dfrecore! I was hoping to just be able to take the TECEP for the BSBA but it looks like I'll have to suck it up and take the Capstone. I was reading about it and it sounds like it can be a bit of a pain.

It looks like the BALS is the better option for me, so I won't need the TECEP for Strategic Management. I'll have to take the Liberal Studies Capstone.

Just make sure to take a couple of courses at Study.com to offset the pricing for the BALS Capstone, cornerstone requirement waiver and residency waiver discount.

Well, last night I received my transcript evaluation from WGU (Bachelor of Science, Data Management/Data Analytics) and to my surprise, they actually accepted my AAS. All of my Gen Ed requirements have been met and 17 credits were applied to my AOS. It now looks like WGU will be the best option for me for both speed and price, from what I can tell. Now I need to determine which courses I can complete on my own, so that I only need to pay for one 6 month term. I have four courses that are labeled "non transferable" that I'll be completing during that term. Here is a link to the remaining courses that I need and the WGU listed transfer requirements. Would anyone be able to assist me in determining the quickest and most cost effective path forward? The uDacity nano degree appears to knock out 5 courses and its $200/month with 50% off if completed within 12 months. Their website says that the average completion time for this degree is 260 hours. That should be much cheaper than the $3k term at WGU as long as I put the time in to get it completed ASAP. The A+ cert knocks off two more and I can likely pass that right now for $205. The others I'm not certain about yet.

Project Management is available through Study.com ($199) and Sophia (on sale through 5/26 at 50% off, so less than Study.com if you only need 1 course).

CSU-Global offers PM and IT PM, as well as Database Management.

I would try to get any of these pre-approved before taking them. I have no idea if WGU will accept any of them.


Don't forget that A+ is 2 exams - each $205. So $410. That starts to sound a bit expensive. You might just want to get the book(s) to study before enrolling, so that you can take the exams immediately upon starting the program.

I believe it was a block transfer because I didn't have any credits for intro to physics or geography. You should definitely go ahead and apply and see what they say since its free right now.

Quick question - on the eval, does each individual course say met, or does the entire Gen Ed area say "met - AAS from XYZ school" so that you can tell that it's a block transfer? If they will do the block Xfer for AAS degrees, then that would be an excellent reason for people to use one of the BOG programs.
