New here, please help?
#1
Hello, I've just discovered this site and I'm very interested in testing out of a BA at TESU. However, I'm not certain where I should begin. Currently I have an associates from a local community college. If possible, I'd like to transfer as many of those credits as I can and then begin testing out of others. How do I determine which of my current credits will transfer? Also, should I just begin testing or do I need to apply and enroll and the begin testing out of classes? Any help you guys can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Apply to TESU they will determine which of your credits are good

You can begin testing before enrolling, but to be certain you're not duplicating, it helps to get official advising from the school. Also you lock in the current catalog by enrolling.

You cannot fully test out of a Bachelor's except for the BSBA at TESU. And that full testing option will be gone very soon - you'd have to register for the capstone exam within about 1-2 weeks. They are discontinuing it. So, you may want to read the threads that I've posted to in the past week, helping others understand this BSBA option.

Here's a good place to start to understand how this works: http://www.degreeforum.net/general-educa...llege.html

Much is outdated by now, but the info is still helpful in figuring things out. Start at the beginning and read all the way through.

If you post all of your courses that you've taken on here, we can help you get started with a degree plan. If you just want a BALS, that's the easiest and most flexible degree TESU has.

Post course number, full course name, number of credits, and grade if below a C (some will still come in). Indicate whether it's a semester-based or quarter-based school.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll definitely take a look at that! So, if I enroll and then start testing... how does tuition work?

For TESU you just pay the $75 application fee, then you enroll in the capstone TECEP, and that's all. You pay for some tests (CLEP, study.com, etc) and you can pay the rest much later. Residency fee can be paid near to your graduation application.

So, I applied and was going to go ahead and register for the TECEP. However, I'm having an issue creating an account for online student services. Each time after following the steps listed, I'm given an error message "With the information you provided we could not uniquely identify you. Please check the data you entered". Could this possibly be because they've already created a student ID for me or something? I have not received an acceptance email or anything.

After applying, it can take over 3 days to get your ID by email, unless you ask them to expedite it.

Oh, ok. Perhaps I misread the instructions. It appeared that you could register without an ID until they sent one.
