Hi again everyone,
I recently applyed to Metropolia and received 3 emails from the University.
a. "Study right for path studies" from noreply@metropolia.fi
b. "Metropolia Open UAS: Welcome to Degree Progamme of Information Technology, path 180 ECTS" from Virve Prami
c. "Metropolia Open UAS: Welcome to course Google Cloud Computing Fundamentals" from Virve Prami
b. It says "You have been accepted to Metropolia’s Open UAS Degree..." and it's just instructions about Viope, Moodle and LabSim/TestOut.
c. An email about "Google Cloud Computing Fundamentals" credentials and instructions.
a. Says:
"You have been given study right in terms of the following Open UAS path...",
"An Open UAS student profile has been created for you. Please activate a user ID for your profile...",
"If you did not complete a strong identification when enrolling, you must visit a service point of Metropolia's Student and Admission Services and present an identification document in order to receive your user ID.",
"Once you have activated your user ID, log in to your e-mail at mail.metropolia.fi/."
1. Is this a new thing? Do I really need to go to Finland to shop my passport? It's not that far from Lithuania, but still, I would rather not, if possible.
I read someone saying they activated it using a "secure email", but I'm not sure who to email about it.
In the depths of the Metropolia's wiki I've found some pages that say I can do so by using a "password slip", which I have to receive from helpdesk or the university somehow?
2. So I guess I will only receive an email after activating an account?
3. I have also registered for Viope and completed a course there. From what I understand, once the course is completed to 80/90%, I need to email them, provide a course proggress screenshot and also give my User ID/Metropolia ID for the course to be checked and transfered there?
4. At which point do I have to pay the 579€? Since I haven't yet received an invoice.
