New TESU Residency Requirement!!! 16cr, TECEP's do not count?!?
davewill Wrote:No, since you were enrolled before May 25, you don't have to take the Cornerstone.

My mistake - I meant that I will still need to take the capstone thru TESU.
sovietunion911 Wrote:I'm sorry, everyone, but rather than read through these 20 pages trying to find my particular answers, I'll just ask these questions:

1) I enrolled January 2015 and currently have 15 TECEP credits acquired and the 3-credit Capstone Course planned. Will my residency requirement be met?
2) My last TECEP was taken in August 2015. Will my placement in the 2015 Per-Credit plan expire eventually? Will enrollment in the Capstone Course renew my catalog?

1) Your residency will be met as soon as you take the Capstone
2) Yes, your plan will expire if you do not pass a course or TECEP before August. I would enroll in something now, even if you don't need it for your degree. Enrollment in the Capstone now will also work.

I would think that you should be VERY concerned at this point - I would not hesitate to enroll in the Capstone and get your degree immediately. I wouldn't take any chances on the residency credits at this point in your degree plan.

I just enrolled in the Capstone course. Will my plan renew by simply enrolling in the Capstone, or will I need to pass it before August?

"I was wondering when you applied to TESU. Did you enroll before April 1?
Have you ever taken a course or enrolled with them prior to that email?"

I have been accepted since last summer but I hadn't enrolled for anything through TESU until this April's term(which technically started April 4th) for 2 TECEPs.

Haha, you rock. You just made the enrollment because, you were registered for the two TECEPS before the April 1.
Count your lucky shoes, as if you didn't register for those two, you would be subject to the changes they have now.

"This year is just a surprise because they moved up the date to April 1, and they are making the TECEP's not count for residency retroactively."

In all the responses I have seen posted and in my own case as well this is not true. I have not taken ANY Teceps yet and the registrar comfirmed that all of the Teceps I have registered for in the MAY term will count towards my residency.

This is something the school just finally clarified two days ago. Prior to that, inconsistent information was being given to everyone. But now officially, anyone currently registered for TECEPs for the April and May 2016 terms will be able to apply those credits toward their residency requirements.

And I was talking about the fact that it applies to people who are enrolled and their catalog states that TECEP's count for residency. They are taking that option away from people going forward (after the May term).

I am very thankful! I just blessed with being ready to start taking my TECEPs in the April term. I had no idea that anything had changed until I got on here a few days ago.

DSST: Principles of Statistics, Principles of Finance, Introduction to Computing, Introduction to Business, Principles of Supervision, Introduction to World Religions, and Ethics in America.
Penn Foster: Supply Chain Management (92%), Marketing Research (96%), Business Law (89%), and Strategic Business Management (92%)

Registered for these TECEPs: April term- Technical Writing (90%) and Public Relations Thought and Practice (67%)
May term: Managerial Communications (72%), Business in Society (65%), Sales Management (74%), and Marketing Communications (77%)
June term: Operations Management
This is probably a dumb question, but as long as I register for my TECEPs before the 16th of April for the May term they will be counted as my residency requirements correct? I won't miss out on this because I wasn't registered for them before April 1st correct?

This is only true if you were enrolled prior to 4/1.
