Are there any reports from people who have gone this route on what the classes are like? With the name recognition, I might be able to talk the daughter into working on this one. She has been dragging her feet on the other paths I have shown her so far but is still adamant that she wants to get her Bachelors.

The post before yours mentioned this: "Even with the max transfer in it is quite costly, at least another $22k after transfers in (for a bachelor on this forum)." Are you going to ask your daughter if she wants a BALS for that amount just because it's from Georgetown?
This is my suggestion, talk to her first, ask what she's looking for, needs/wants, etc. If she's looking for something cheap, easy, fast and from a public/state institution, the ones we recommend at the Bachelors level is what I would go for first.
If she's looking for name, there are others at the Bachelors or Masters level. You can then look for Coursera/EDX Masters programs that are discounted by many other very recognized institutions, it depends on the subject matter of interest though.

Agreed. Very wise suggestion.
If only looking for the name, Upenn also has a BAAS. It's the only online bachelor program offered by an IVY college (correct me if wrong) but the tuition is also incredible, which doubles Georgetown's...

Yep, started classes at UCA this week. Only 2 classes this semester (apparently to start you are only allowed to take 2 classes, then can take up to 3 in the following semesters.) There are about 4 Zoom 'classes' or meetings scheduled for each class and the rest of the work is independent.

It has been difficult to 'talk to a real person' at Georgetown about this program. He has lots of questions and not getting any help. First advising appointment he could get is for the end of Sept.
Curious if they are self funding, or some sort of tuition assistance? Which concentration? I assume it is the Georgetown name they're after (nothing wrong with that). Even with the max transfer in it is quite costly, at least another $22k after transfers in (for a bachelor on this forum). Did they already have many existing credits from before? Clearly, I have many questions - so in short, how did they get to this degree as 'the one'?
Happy to answer what I know!
The concentration they chose is International Relations. They are self funding, had been saving up for a prestige degree. The other option was Harvard Extension school, but Georgetown is cheaper. He has a ton of pre existing credits, he is awaiting evaluation still... the entire process is slow on hearing back from Georgetown.
I had shown my SO UMPI and talked about TAMUC (my brother is pursuing UMPI right now after just getting his Pierpont degree) so I advocate for these options. However, prestige was important to him, so Georgetown was the best option.
From what I can see from what he is doing, the platform is very similar to the Coursera platform I used for my PM Google Certification. They even have peer grading for some projects like they did int he Google certification, which I was surprised by. His classes have some 'live events' but he said he will watch the recordings, and he has been able to complete a ton of work at his own pace. Seems like a very self paced program.

UCA (University of Central Arkansas) Ph.D. Change Leadership for Equity and Inclusion
Completed:
WGU MSML
TAMUC BAAS Org Leadership
PMP, CSM, CSPO, Google Project Management Certificate

I guess they really want you to be sure you want that UPenn Degree. Some people have completed an entire bachelors degree for the cost of a single Credit.

With my daughter receiving some tuition reimbursement, there wouldn't be a ton of out of pocket cost for the Georgetown degree, it would just take her 4 to 6 years to get there LOL. Yes I am still trying to get her to go to one of the others, most likely UMPI, but TESU is a close second. She did submit her transcripts to Pierpont for BOG AAS, just hasn't been evaluated yet. She is slowly coming around.

*ding ding*, @GameSlinger... exactly, I would recommend both as well, either of the two would work, TESU/UMPI as they both allow 90 or more credits for transfer using alternative credits. It all depends on her degree programs, subjects of interest, study habits and so on that she's needing or wanting for personal and professional growth...

They accept up to 64 credits toward the 120 credit degree.
https://www.coursera.org/degrees/ba-libe...georgetown I’m currently getting ready to start this exact program for the Fall of 2024 as a first year adult college student. I’m pretty excited. I’m choosing my concentration in business and plan to get into Sales/ Marketing. I also very much fancy a Jesuit education.

@SilentWarrior, great stuff, you may want to review your options as there are so many different ways to get to that educational goal of yours, please review this post: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...#pid412147

If I went to my local state school 3 hours away for an online bachelors it’s about $50 more a credit hour than Georgetown. I’m a single guy in his 30’s with just a high school diploma who did pretty well in high school with solid app credentials. I’m not looking to rush my education, I’m single with no kids. This program is perfect for me which is why I chose it. I also respect Georgetown’s values within my education. I’ve always been a Georgetown fan since I was a kid. It matched all my boxes.

So if I went through life with just a bachelors degree at my age I’d say this is a great one for me. I also get to be part of the Georgetown Alumni Association for life with full benefits.

@SilentWarrior, great stuff, it's good to have and be part of the Georgetown Alumni Association for life with full benefits... Again, there are ways to get things done better, it's your energy, money, time, what I suggested in the link was to do exactly what in the last paragraph. I'm rooting for you if you're going ahead with it, just take classes you can't CLEP/MS out of and you're there!
Here's the Link again, just in case you missed it in the quoted message of mine... Again, I support your thoughts, and just giving a suggestion, your end goal remains the same, but you're taking a better slice of the pie going the CLEP/MS route for the free electives!
