New ASU EA Game Design Course
#1
Fun new course from Arizona State University Earned Admission, formerly Universal Learner:

AME 160 Introduction to Game Design

Quote:Overview

This course introduces students to the general and foundational concepts behind game design, including what works, how to integrate game elements, and how to support a player's experience. This is an introductory course that will prepare students for courses that focus on implementing these skills and concepts while creating a game.

What you’ll learn
  • Introduce students to game design concepts (including game rules/systems, mechanics, narrative, and player experience as part of design)
  • Support students before pursuing higher level courses in the BS in Game Design
  • Provide students with opportunities to critically assess game design and build a working knowledge of design concepts required to understand game-making
  • Understand and implement basic concepts of game rules, mechanics, and systems
  • Critically assess design in existing games, applying course knowledge to design decisions while evaluating their positive and negative aspects
  • Develop basic design plans and outlines to prepare for game creation in later courses

Students will use the Endstar 3D game creation engine.

Session-based exclusively in 8-week terms, not self-paced. Next start date is March 17 2026. 3 credits. $25 to enter then $400 to transcript.

Seeing this brought back a flashback memory from like 2008-2016, ITT Tech used to run commercials for their bachelor's in game design on TV in New York. Always looked so cool to get a degree in game design, especially if you were a gamer.

Hmm, I always thought it was the other way around, Earned Admissions to Universal Learner. I guess they liked EA that much, they reverted back since all their webpages are using EA still...
