Hey guys. I really just learned of UMPI a week ago. I really just want the easiest bachelor's degree to get a pay increase. I was thinking of bls in educational studies or baba...I been stuck reading this thread for days learning so I could avoid asking repeated questions. I have take a few college course st community college and I am looking to tackle as many GEC and electives as possible using Sophia only.
Classes I have so far is English 1....intro to computers...public speaking and intro to psychology. I may have a physics course but I am waiting on my transcripts to confirm bc it's been so long. Can anyone give me an idea on where to start? Should I complete my sophia courses before I apply. I am just overwhelmed ?

Start with the GEC. You'll be able to fulfill everything except 2D and 4A with Sophia. That will give you time to decide if you want the BLS or the BABA.
This will show you which Sophia courses will fill the various areas of the GE:

You'll need at least 40 credits in the GEC. The same course can be used to fill multiple areas.

@Ebroady23, Welcome to the board, you've missed the thread right above yours, you've provided some insight into your current situation but usually you would want to give more details instead of a quick overview. With more info of your scenario, we'll have a clearer picture, we can then provide a concrete solution for you. My suggestion is to complete the template and last post addendum here: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-...Area-works

I second completing the template so that we can assist better.
However, you definitely want to complete Sophia classes before you apply. Once you are enrolled, you need permission to transfer in additional classes. This is usually not a problem, but it's easier to get everything transferred in at the start.

Why educational studies? Are you looking to get into teaching, or work for an educational organization? Are you in need of any bachelor (the 'check box' degree), as you mentioned the BABA as an alternative (which is very different than educational studies)?

I am simply trying to get a job promotion but I thought maybe I should consider BABA since I heard a lot if negative things about liberal art degrees.

@Ebroady23, you missed the last post addendum I mentioned in my post earlier. From your answer of just a job promotion, it doesn't really sound like you need a specific degree and a check the box would do. You can decide on a BLS with a MIS, Management, or PM minor instead. If you need a specific degree and aren't going to go towards a Masters later on, then the BABA Management & Leadership is your best bet.

I recently went Part-time on my Job so that I could have time to go back to school. I am shooting for another position within the company that requires a bachelor's degree. I have 3 days off a week with no obligations on those days so I can do majority of my work on those days plus after work on the days I work. I took a pay cut going part time so I need this finished in no more than 2 terms. I would like to have the option to consider a Masters degree in the future so I am still trying to figure out the quickest program that would allow for future advancements.

I agree with bjcheung77. I you had more credits already that you wanted to use up then a BLS-Management would make sense (far more than the educational studies you first posted about). But long term the BABA-Management & Leadership would provide you with the most ROI and likely be the quickest of the BSBA options to complete (quicker = lowest cost). I wouldn't wait to apply to UMPI though, send them what you have so you can get the ball rolling there as you already have your CC credits to send (and it will allow you to start when you're ready - too many people here wait to apply, then complain they can't start until months later). Keep working through the Sophia credits you need - finish up with Sophia, then send those into UMPI. Seems like you've set up your schedule to expedite this as quickly as possible. It wouldn't hurt to fill out the FAFSA, you may find out your eligible for a Pell Grant - the worst case is, you're not
