Hey everyone, I'm registering for TESU sos 110 and capstone tomorrow can anyone give me some info on what might be the best course of action. Online or guided? Any preferred instructors? What should I expect? Thanks! -ZC

I took the BSBA capstone, and I computed what my score would have been either way (GS or online) and it was like .15% (yes, point 15%, so basically no difference).
My discussion assignments were normally about a full page, including works cited, although one went pretty long (4-ish pages). I'm not certain how long the forum posts have to be, but there were 5 assignments, and I think there are like 11 posts, so it's probably a toss-up as to which is less work. The good thing with the assignments is that it's more feedback from your instructor on what they're looking for, whereas I'm going to guess posts aren't giving you as much. Also, with the posts, you're kind of at the mercy of your classmates, who may not post early on and so you're trying to do replies fairly late in the week, whereas I did my assignments early and got the grade right away, before I even did my case studies. So it might actually be a good thing to do GS.
But it's up to you, I'm thinking it's not a ton of difference either way.

I’ve not taken anything but OL at GCU and TESU so I can’t comment on GS.
The OL has discussion questions you’ll have to post answers to and then you reply with a substantive post to either your own or 2 other classmates posts. I always posted early to give people a chance to reply back so I had more opportunity to just get the other 2 posts done.
I had Dr Heit for SOS-110 and would consider him to be nit picky. I have Dr Hansen for the capstone and LOVE HER. She really helps you along, she’s readily accessible and offers great suggestions. She also shares example capstones.

If you are an experienced student this class is going to be a snore and quite possibly an annoyance. I don’t know if you’re going to be up for doing more assignments at that beginner level. I can email you the syllabus for the OL class if you’d like to see it.
