Need HELP! Marketing and Management
#1
Hello all!
I just recently found out about the CLEP test and I desperately need to pass Principles of Marketing and Principles of Management. When I say pass I mean what my school accepts, which is a minimum of 70.
I don't know any of the lingo on here, I haven't heard of any other study sources, and I have no clue what these tests look like.
Please give me any advice you have or tell me where I should go/what I should buy to get 70's on these tests in a week.

Thank You!

A week's a pretty short time for a 70 unless you know the material, which can be from study or from experience or both. How about you tell us a little about yourself and your background? There are excellent practice tests for Management you can take at Petersons.com for $19.95. None for Marketing last time I looked, though you can get a good idea of your readiness by taking quizzes on websites that accompany textbooks. Some are linked from the feedback threads on this site.
CLEP Principles of Management 77
CLEP Intro to Sociology 74
CLEP Principles of Marketing 78
CLEP Information Systems and Computer Applications 75
CLEP Intro to Psychology 80
CLEP Intro Business Law 72
CLEP Principles of Macroeconomics 73
CLEP A & I Lit 75
CLEP Principles of Microeconomics 72
CLEP Financial Accounting 62
DSST Ethics in America 468
DSST MIS 482
CLEP Natural Science 72
DSST Org Behavior 80
DSST Finance 462

wkita04,

You will find everything you are looking for in our Specific Exam Feedback section (you must be logged in to access this section). This an excellent resource on what to expect on the exams, what you can use to study (including InstantCert of course Big Grin ), etc. You will find threads for most all of the CLEP and DANTES exams, including Principles of Marketing and Principles of Management. .

Here are the direct links to these two exams:

Good luck and welcome to the IC forum!

wkita04,

I passed both management and marketing with a 77.

I would recommend getting a month's subscription to this website, InstantCert, if you don't have one already - that's a must. Take one subject at a time, go through the flashcards until you know them backwards and forwards, and then take the test. We're talking about probably going through the flashcards for a specific subject about four times.

Marketing was the easiest - start with that and then take the test, so it's out of the way. Management was a little harder, but not bad at all if you know the flashcards.

I don't believe I used the Peterson's practice tests for either of those two subjects - so I don't think you need to either... believe me - InstantCert is enough, all by itself. I definitely didn't have previous knowledge in either of those two subjects, either.

For extra "insurance", as ShotoJuku puts it, I would recommend getting the REA books (search on Amazon for "rea clep marketing", and "rea clep management". You don't need to read the whole book - just thumb through it so you can get a taste of the subject... and use it as a reference if you come across any tricky material in the IC flashcards.

The links to my study outlines (based on the IC flashcards) for both subjects are posted below.

Hope this helps... if you have any other questions, just post here or PM me.
