Hi everyone,
I am new here and looking for advice. I would like to take BSBA Operations Management from TESC. Currently I have no college credits but im working on earning some from Straighterline and Clep. Where else can I earn college credits? Anyone with an outline of how to go about BSBA Operations Management from TESC ...... like what credits are transferable? Thanks

Operations Management is going to take some creativity on your part. I completed the OM concentration because I had transferable credit from the Air Force. You are going to have to piece-meal credits from TESC and other institutions in your major. Do you have any work experience in OM? You may be able to get a PLA done, but those are usually a lot of work with little reward.

Don't waste time by trying to save time. The only sure way to complete your degree is to knock out credits quickly and efficiently.
Don't let easiness bite you in the rear. Know your endgame (where you want to be) and plan backward from there. Your education is a means to an end.
Be honest professionally, socially and academically. There are people (especially little ones) who look up to you and they're going by your example.
Be proud. Whether you're an Engineer or Fast Food worker, there is honor and dignity in hard work.
Picking on people weaker than you only proves that you are a weak person.

Prloko, why do you say PLA is usually a lot of work with little reward?

Hi - I'm almost finished with my BSBA Operations Management degree. I had lots of credits from other colleges but after the eval I was still left with sixty three credits to take which meant 21 classes.
Thanks to the advice from the good folks on these forums, I was able to test out or do accelerated self study for of 19 of them - they are listed as part of my signature. They all transferred into the degree plan with no problem.
The only two classes that did not have a test or a self study option (like sophia or penn foster) were Total Quality Management and Logistics. Both are required for the OM specialization.
For the classes I don't have listed, you'll no doubt get very helpful advice from folks posting replies to your question. Since the OM degree is almost the same as the general BSBA, I believe the lower level classes can be done as Cleps & DSSTs.

ive never done it myself, but several people I have known have soent a lot of time putting portfolios together and not getting much credit. it depends on the student and the school. Have you had success with PLA?

Yes, through Learning Counts. I love to write and am better at it than taking exams (though I've gotten much better at testing). I think portfolios are great if you have strong writing skills, an interest in a subject, and the ability to document it. The turnaround time was 2 weeks.
